CYO allows our youth to practice Christian attitudes and responsibilities and become friends with other children throughout the diocese. The Marian Movement of Priests is a private association of Catholic clergy and lay associate members founded by Italian priest Fr. Stefano Gobbi in 1972. While visiting the Shrine of Our Lady of Fátima in Portugal he felt himself inspired to begin this work, whose principal emphases are to encourage Consecration, especially of priests, to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and whole-hearted fidelity to the Magisterium of the Pope. The St. Francis of Assisi Pastoral Council is an advisory/consultative body to the Pastor. It comprises volunteer parishioners and the Principal of St. Francis of Assisi School. Now in our 18th year of operation at St. Francis, 35 volunteers work in various capacities to provide food and other assistance to those in need in our area five mornings each week. We are fortunate to have the pantry facility and the support of our priests and parishioners to continue as a vital resource for the poor in the Concord community. Read more...
